Step by step guide to convert your personal account into a business profile
Prerequisites
Before beginning, please check you have the following :
- Have a Facebook Company Page . Not obvious at first sight but this is required because later you will need to link your Brand Instagram Business Profile to your Brand Facebook Company Page. Also, as you know, Instagram belongs to Facebook.
- Have a role on your Facebook company page. Role is attributed by an admin to your Personal Facebook account / profile. Roles are Admin, Editor, Moderator, Advertiser or Analyst. To be added with a role, just ask any admin of the page to add you. It is simple : any admin must go to the page > page role > assign a new page role > write your Facebook name or email. - Make sure your Instagram profile is public. Private accounts can’t switch.
- Have a mobile application on Android or IOS : you can not find the button to switch on Instagram website, which has reduced features than the mobile app.
