Businesses of all sizes are realizing the many benefits of social media. With 2.3 billion users around the world, there’s no doubt that social media has the scope and tools to bring great opportunities for any business. So today we’ll show you why social media is important for business.

As a digital marketer, you need to leverage proper social media channels to reach out to your prospects. By being present and active on social media, you not only generate more business but also connect with customers better.

 

Here are reasons why social media is important for business: 

 

Better brand awareness

Social media has transformed the way we communicate with each other, and most importantly, with brands. Through social media, customers are now able to follow and connect with brands easily. Social media exposes brands to new audiences. With one click, a message can be shown to millions of people, raising awareness for brands in a way no traditional media has ever done before.

 

Get to know customers better

Customers are the lifeblood of any business, and knowing what customers want can help you devise ways on how to reach them better. Do they love to read and appreciate a well-written blog? Do they like discounts? By getting to know typical customers, you can figure out what marketing messages will resonate with them.

 

Launch targeted ads

Having a lot of followers isn’t enough for businesses. As digital marketer, you need to be able to convert these followers into customers or brand advocates. Social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram all have tools to make audience targeting more efficient. For example, you can launch a Facebook ad campaign and set it to target women, with ages from 18 to 28, single, and all living in East Coast. Another advantage of a social media ad is you can see the performance of your campaign during and after it’s posted.

You can track competitors on social media by simply following their social media accounts. Keeping an eye on your competitors will help you monitor their marketing activities, the content they’re putting out, how often they post, and how their followers respond to their content. Knowing these things can help you create a better marketing plan.

 

Improve customer service

Many customers use social media to commend or complain about a company or service. Use social media to your advantage by making sure that you respond to complaints immediately as well as engage with loyal customers.

 

 

Add real-world engagement via social wall

Once you’ve established your social media presence, take it a step further by joining events where you can promote your company to real people. During these events, you can use a new social media engagement tool called “Social Media Wall” or “social wall.” A social wall is a giant digital monitor or a bank of monitors running special engagement software that allows visitors to post user-generated content instantly. You can invite followers to post their experience during the event by using a hashtag specific to your company. Social wall is one of today’s top tools to keep visitors fully engaged at an event.
