Slack : How teamwork makes the dream work
If you live in the 21st century and you have a digital business or work for one, you probably already heard about Slack. If you don’t, well, you are at the right place. Slack is one of the most efficient way to communicate with your colleagues, and to organize work as a team.
Communicate
Slack is handy for those oh-so-important team conversations because it allows instant messages between staff members. This is perfect if your company have employees who work from home, or workers who travel overseas very often. This way, you never lose track of who is doing what, and you keep the communication flow going, just by moving your fingertips. It’s also possible to send direct messages, for more privacy.
Organize
You can organize conversations in different channels depending on the subject, the project, the team and so on. You can pretty much do a channel on anything, the possibilities are endless. For regular channels, everyone can see what is being said, but for more sensitive content, feel free to create private channels.
Share
Share messages but also files with your team : images, PDFs, documents, spreasdsheets, you name it ! Just drop them with a comment in your channels, or through direct messages and they will be completely accessible. Wait, there’s more. Do you use Google Drive ? Dropbox ? Box ? All of the above ? If you do, you’re going to like this : just paste the link and that document is immediately synchronized and searchable.
Archive
Your entire Slack database is archived automatically so you don’t have to worry about saving anything. Also, all your content is indexed so if you just want to see one part of an endless conversation, just type in the word ! This is also great if you want to print ideas said in a particular channel, awesome to keep the conversation going in brainstorming sessions, for example.
