There is no shortage of jargons when it comes to drive traffic from Facebook to your website. Contents, Conversion Rate Optimization, Return on investment, Realisation, Engagement, Page likes, and Post reach –  etc. are a few of them. Sometimes these jargons would be deterrent factors to the new entrants or novices. In fact, the diversion of traffic from Facebook, for example, is rather simple. It is slightly advanced than that of search engine optimisation.

As per the recent study, Facebook drives more website traffic than any other social platform which in turn enhances traffic flow to your website and in turn better ranking in search engine results.

1- Your Facebook Page needs to be optimised for website clicks.

The link to your website should be visible. And the process of clicking needs to be easy. The visitor/customer friendly nature of the link is crucial for keeping them stay long enough. The persistence of vision principle should be exploited to the full extent.

The timeline milestone allowing the visitor to move to the new site should be seamless and hassle-free. Another effective tool is to have a  ‘call-to-action button’  which is a handy little feature sitting pretty at the top of your Facebook Page, next to the Like button. You can lure the customers to the page of your choices like a contact form or an email sign-up page.

2- The content on your website shall have to be fresh and catchy.

Keeping the visitors, customers, fans or onlookers engaged with snippets, pictures, videos and links is critical. But that alone does not guarantee a steady flow of dynamic traffic. To make it happen, good blogs are called for. Good blogs would ensure longer sustainability and repeated visit.

3- Your content should be optimised for sharing.

An updated blog with interesting features will do wonders for converting the victors to prospective customers. The quantum of sharing of the contents and blogs on Facebook is a yardstick to measure the effectiveness.

The social sharing buttons enable people to share your content on the Facebook timeline. In the process, the visitors, as well as their friends, are likely to click on the link to your website.

4- Think big with big images.

Visibility plays a major role; it could be pictures, images or quotes. They are bound to bring in more engagement, including likes, comments. The psychological inclination to like bigger photos (say 1200 x 628 pixels) can be exploited.

5- Texts those are difficult to be overlooked.

Compelling texts would pave the way for better attention span. Authentic, interesting contents should strike the bull’s eye. You should avoid repulsive texts, but a friendly and humorous tone should bring in desired results. The blog posts should have compelling titles with link preview. The update will have a clickable image and should not be a cluttered link:

6- Use Facebook’s Link Share view.
