Webmarketing & hashtag are deeply linked. Hashtag is a simple way to categorize your contents and/or find a content on the web.

Consequently, develop your digital strategy with hashtags requires a minimum of method.

Here are 6 tips for the use of Hashtag and Webmarketing:

1 – To optimize webmarketing & hashtag : find the #rightkeywords

Your web marketing strategy must be based on a semantic environment  that is matching you. You are going to share and produce web contents linked to it and to hashtags.

Their use is today fully integrated in user culture (see this article). Consequently, hashtags choice to define your content is strategical because they are both image & visibility builders. You don’t know how to do it ? Here is a tool list to search the right hashtag

Find the right hashtags corresponding to your themes is the first step to the recognizition of your contents.

2 – Hashtag & classification

You would like to manage your image with hasthags ? Start by being  organized : list the different themes in relation with your activity, regroup them by segments & create your own nomenclature.

Use the popularity of pre existing hashtags.

… But in a good manner : there is no use to link #USA or #world to all your webmarketing actions : you will harm your image (pertinence notion is essential for hashtags)

In the below screenshot  (tourism sector), you can see the popularity of different hashtags : #voyage, #vacances, et #Paris are most popular than #tourisme.

4 – Launch your own #trends

You have a public consumer brand like KFC, don’t hesitate : launch your own hashtags.

Your brand has its own personality & identity. Show them through hashtags you use.

5 – A hashtag must be easy to use : be « smart & simple »

There is little chances that a 50-character long hashtag be shared by your communauty.

Mobile rising use and hashtag length are indicators you have to take into account. Even if this is an acronym, your hashtag won’t be used only if it is easy to remember.

6 – Hashtag must be used with moderation

In webmarketing, Hashtag is an element of content recognition. It doesn’t disturb message understanding. On Twitter, for example, messages are limited to 140 characters, 1 to 3 hashtags are enough. Beyond, your message may be indigestible.
